clean up.

The first thing to do when installing vista or even when you buy a computer with vista on, is download a couple of clean up programs. if you run these programs say once or twice a week your computer will never run SLOW AGAIN. These programs delete little images and things that build up in your catch file, There are many programs out there some work some dont. here is a list

These programs used twice a week will keep your machine in top shape.

Winrar.

winrar is a prgram that extract rar files for you. most programs you download are rar files if you dont have winrar or soemthing else like winrar installed up will not be able to extract them files. Click here to download winrar now.

Keyboard shortcuts.

Below you willl find a list of keyboard shortcuts for windows vista. some of these you will already no, but some of them you will not and i think that some of them come in very very handy. for example if you have no mouse attached to your computer you can press alt + d and the cursor will jump to the url bar at the top of the page.

F1 Display Help
CTRL+C Copy the selected item
CTRL+X Cut the selected item
CTRL+V Paste the selected item
CTRL+Z Undo an action
CTRL+Y Redo an action
DELETE Delete the selected item and move it to the Recycle Bin
SHIFT+DELETE Delete the selected item without moving it to the Recycle Bin first
F2 Rename the selected item
CTRL+RIGHT ARROW Move the cursor to the beginning of the next word
CTRL+LEFT ARROW Move the cursor to the beginning of the previous word
CTRL+DOWN ARROW Move the cursor to the beginning of the next paragraph
CTRL+UP ARROW Move the cursor to the beginning of the previous paragraph
CTRL with any arrow key+SPACEBAR
Select multiple individual items in a window or on the desktop
CTRL+ A Select all items in a document or window
F3 Search for a file or folder
ALT+ENTER Display properties for the selected item
ALT+F4 Close the active item, or exit the active program
ALT+SPACEBAR Open the shortcut menu for the active window

Codec's.

when you first get your pc or vista , you may thing yes everthing is there but no its not. when trying to play some files on your pc they might not work. windows media player comes up with and error saying can not find codec. there is a codec pack called k lite codec this will let you play nearly and video and audio that you want to play Click here now to download k lite codec.

Daemon tools.

Daemon tools is a prgram that gives you a fake cd rom drive. this is so you can load image files into the fake drive and use them just like a cd. for example is you have and img file off a game once loaded into the fake cdrom drive(daemon tools) it will just like you have inserted the cd. i have many img files off games i do this if the orignal game is scratched or has a crack in then you will never lose the game you paid for. click here to download daemon tools

Defrag.

defrag your computer is important and will really help speed up your computer, the is a defrag already built in to windows vista but me personally i dont use it, i think its no good to be honest so i look around and found a few the best one that i found was AusLogics Disk Defrag. Here i am going to post some tips and tricks to make your life easier when useing windows vista.i will also give you some links to some cool programs that will keep you entertained.

DeskSpace 3D Virtual Desktop

This program will allow you to have 6 desktops. you may be think hmmm how is this possiable, its easy really. what this program does its give you 5 more virtual desktops that you can skip though so say you have lots of things running on your desktop, at the push of a button you can go to your desktop with nothing on but all them programs will be still runnging on desktop 1. Installing and uninstalling windows vista.

when i first bought my laptop from pc world they told me there was no way i could remove xp myself, i didnt want vista when it first came out but over the yrs its grown on me. well the man in pc world was talking rubbish the easy way to remove windows vista is by booting from disk.

booting from disk.

To boot from disk you must go in to your biost settings. when your computer boots up press delete till a blue page comes up, when it comes up scroll down to advance options. press enter and it will take you to another page. scroll down again to first boot device and change it to cd-rom. it may be set on hard drive but there no need to change this later. then press f10 and yes your computer will restart then it will come up saying to boot from disk press any key. press any key and there you go follow the on screen insructions to install your windoes vista, this alos works for xp.

Watching videos and tv on your pc.

i have found this great program for watching movies and watching normal tv aswell. these days they are really cracking down on p2p download. i heard the other week that a man got sent down for 4 yrs for downloading p2p. so if you like the sound of it check outthis site. click here
